There are plenty of podcasts and YouTube channels where people sit around pretending they have everything figured out.
That isn’t what we wanted to build.
The Non-Compliant Life was created by Chris, Shawn, and me—three guys with different experiences, different perspectives, and plenty of real-life scars. Chris is taking the lead on running the channel, but this belongs to all three of us. It’s something we’re building together through honest conversations about life, money, business, recovery, purpose, and starting over.
There was no corporate meeting. No polished business plan. No group of experts telling us what people wanted to hear.
It started with conversations.
The same kinds of conversations people have sitting in a garage, riding in a car, or talking late at night when nobody is trying to impress anybody. The conversations where people finally admit that life didn’t go exactly as planned—and then start asking what they’re going to do about it.
What Does “Non-Compliant” Mean?
Being non-compliant doesn’t mean refusing to follow every rule or fighting the world just to get attention.
It means thinking for yourself.
It means questioning the script you were handed.
Go to school. Get a job. Work for decades. Stay in debt. Wait for retirement. Hope Social Security is still there. Hope your company takes care of you. Hope nothing unexpected happens.
But unexpected things always happen.
People lose jobs they thought were secure. Marriages end. Businesses fail. Addiction destroys years of someone’s life. People wake up at 40, 50, or 60 years old and realize they have been living according to somebody else’s definition of success.
The Non-Compliant Life is about what happens next.
Do you sit around waiting for someone to rescue you, or do you take responsibility for rebuilding your life?
Real People Can Start Again
I spend a lot of time around people who are trying to put their lives back together.
I’ve watched people come out of jail, treatment, addiction, financial trouble, and complete personal disaster. When an able-bodied person truly puts their mind to rebuilding, it is amazing what can happen in only a couple of years.
You don’t always need a technology company, a college degree, or a million-dollar investment.
Someone can buy a pressure washer and start cleaning driveways. They can buy a trailer and start hauling away junk. They can learn a trade, start detailing cars, cut lawns, clean houses, paint buildings, or solve any one of the thousands of problems people will gladly pay to have solved.
The opportunity is still there.
But it usually requires someone to stop waiting for permission.
That is the heart of being non-compliant.
Three People, Three Perspectives
The strength of this channel is that it doesn’t belong to only one person or one point of view.
Chris, Shawn, and I don’t have identical backgrounds, opinions, or answers. That’s exactly why the conversations work. Each of us sees life through a different lens, and nobody needs to pretend to agree with everything the others say.
Chris is essentially running the channel and helping turn these conversations into something people can watch, follow, and hopefully use in their own lives. But the channel itself is ours—the three of us building it together and discovering what it can become.
We aren’t presenting ourselves as gurus.
We’re three people willing to talk honestly about the things many people are thinking but are afraid to say.
Why Start Another Channel?
I already have Modern Day Dealer, where I talk about cars, dealerships, business, money, and the experiences that came from more than 25 years in the automotive world.
But some conversations are bigger than the car business.
The Non-Compliant Life gives the three of us room to go deeper. We can talk about rebuilding after failure, creating income, escaping a life that no longer fits, finding purpose, getting sober, growing older, taking risks, and refusing to surrender control of your future.
Sometimes the message may be uncomfortable.
Sometimes we may disagree.
Sometimes we may look back six months later and realize our thinking has changed.
That’s real life.
We’re Building It From the Beginning
The channel is still young. We have only released the first few episodes, and the audience is just beginning to find us.
That’s part of what makes this exciting.
We aren’t writing the story after the channel becomes successful. We’re documenting the beginning while it is still small, imperfect, and being figured out.
Someday, we may look back at these first episodes and laugh at how raw everything was. But every meaningful project starts somewhere.
This is where The Non-Compliant Life starts.
Come Be Part of the Conversation
We don’t know exactly what this channel will become, and we don’t want to force it into some artificial formula.
We want the conversations to remain honest.
We want to meet people who have survived hard chapters, challenged conventional thinking, built something from nothing, or decided it wasn’t too late to start again.
Most importantly, we want people watching to realize they are not trapped.
Your past matters, but it does not have to control what happens next. Your age does not disqualify you. Your failures do not have to define you. And you do not need permission from the world to build a different life.
Chris, Shawn, and I are building The Non-Compliant Life together.
We’re only at the beginning.
But that’s the best time to come along for the ride.
Watch The Non-Compliant Life on YouTube, subscribe to the channel, and join the conversation.
Stay non-compliant,
