There are certain moments in life that remind you why you slow down long enough to look around.
Today was one of them.
A full moon pushed the tide high enough that the water rolled right over the wooden dock leading through the mangroves. The boardwalk disappeared beneath a thin sheet of moving water, turning an ordinary path into something that looked almost unreal.
Most people probably would’ve seen it as an inconvenience.
I saw a photo.
Standing there, watching the tide move across the boards, it hit me that nature doesn’t ask for permission. It doesn’t care about your schedule, your deadlines, or your plans. It simply does what it’s designed to do.
There’s a lesson in that.
Life has seasons where everything feels predictable, and then there are days when the tide comes in. Your plans change. Opportunities appear where you weren’t expecting them. The people who keep moving forward are usually the ones willing to embrace those moments instead of fighting them.
That’s one of the reasons I love living on the water.
Every day is different.
Some mornings are perfectly calm. Other days the wind picks up, the clouds roll in, or the tide transforms a familiar walkway into something completely new. It’s a reminder that change isn’t always something to avoid. Sometimes it’s exactly what creates the best memories.
The mangrove tunnel was incredible. Water flowing over the boards, reflections dancing across the wood, and the feeling that you were walking into another world just a few steps from home.
Those are the moments I never want to take for granted.
As I’m building Modern Day Dealer, I’m realizing that the brand isn’t just about cars or business. It’s about building a life worth documenting. Freedom. Adventure. Waterfront mornings. Garage nights. Entrepreneurship. Faith. Health. Creating a life where every day has a story worth telling.
Sometimes that story starts with something as simple as a high tide.
Don’t rush past the moments that make you stop and look around.
Those are usually the ones you’ll remember.

Modern Day Dealer

A full moon pushed the tide high enough to cover the dock, turning an ordinary walk through the mangroves into something unforgettable. It was a reminder that not every change is meant to be resisted. Sometimes the changing tide creates the best view.
Slow down. Look around. There’s beauty in moments most people walk right past.
