The Bent Pushrod Wasn’t the Problem

This morning, I pulled a bent pushrod out of the 1970 Chevelle.

At first, it’s frustrating. You spend time tearing things apart, hoping for something simple, and instead you find another problem waiting for you.

But then I realized something.

The bent pushrod wasn’t the real problem.

It was just the evidence.

Something else caused it.

That’s how life works too.

Most people spend their lives replacing bent pushrods. They fix the symptom, put everything back together, and wonder why the same problems keep coming back.

Successful people ask a different question.

“What caused this?”

That question changes everything.

Whether it’s a business that’s struggling, a relationship that’s falling apart, your finances, your health, or an old small-block Chevy… the visible problem is usually just the messenger.

The real work begins when you’re willing to keep digging.

Today, I could have gotten mad.

I could have called it quits for the day.

Instead, I grabbed another wrench.

Because every problem teaches you something if you’re willing to listen.

That’s one of the reasons I love old cars.

They don’t care about excuses.

They don’t care how much money you’ve made, how many followers you have, or how busy you are.

They’re honest.

If something is wrong, they’ll tell you.

Then it’s your job to figure out why.

Funny enough, that’s exactly how building a life works too.

The people who keep winning aren’t the ones who never run into problems.

They’re the ones who refuse to stop looking until they find the real cause.

Sometimes a bent pushrod isn’t bad luck.

Sometimes it’s just pointing you toward the lesson you needed to learn next.

Keep digging.

Every setback leaves a clue. The job isn’t to get frustrated—it’s to keep digging.
