22 Days In: What Blogging Is Already Teaching Me

Today marks 22 straight days of blogging.

That may not sound like much, but what’s interesting is how quickly it has changed the way I think.

When I started, I thought the blog would simply be another place to post content. A place to share stories, lessons, and experiences from 25 years in the car business.

What I didn’t expect was how much it would force me to slow down and reflect.

Most days, we’re moving so fast that we don’t stop to think about what we’re actually learning. We go from one task to the next, one deal to the next, one problem to the next. The days blur together.

Writing changes that.

Every morning, I have to sit down and ask myself a simple question:

“What have I learned lately that’s worth sharing?”

Sometimes the answer comes quickly. Sometimes it takes a while. But every time I write, I find myself paying more attention to life.

The conversations.

The mistakes.

The wins.

The lessons hiding in ordinary days.

One thing I’ve learned in these first 22 days is that content isn’t really the goal.

Awareness is.

The blog has become a daily exercise in paying attention.

Paying attention to what’s working.

Paying attention to what’s not.

Paying attention to the people, experiences, and ideas that are shaping my life.

I’ve also learned that consistency creates momentum.

The first post felt like work.

By Day 22, it feels like part of who I am.

That’s true with almost everything worth doing.

The gym.

Business.

Relationships.

Content creation.

You don’t become successful because of one great day. You become successful because you keep showing up long enough for the small days to compound.

The funny part is that today is also Live #22 of Friday Night Valet Notes.

Twenty-two blogs.

Twenty-two lives.

The same day.

I didn’t plan it that way.

But maybe that’s the lesson.

Momentum isn’t something you find.

It’s something you build.

One day at a time.

And if the first 22 days have taught me anything, it’s that growth creates energy.

Progress creates confidence.

And showing up daily changes you far more than you realize while it’s happening.

So here’s to Day 22.

Tomorrow we’ll make it 23.

Momentum isn’t something you find. It’s something you build.
