Everyone has a favorite meme.

A picture.
A quote.
A joke that gets passed around over and over.

But if I’m being honest, my favorite meme isn’t online.

It’s the idea that success happens overnight.

That one gets shared more than any image ever created.

People see the house.
They don’t see the years.

People see the business.
They don’t see the failures.

People see the muscle.
They don’t see the workouts.

People see the views.
They don’t see the hundreds of videos nobody watched.

The most viral meme in the world is the belief that someone else got lucky.

The truth is usually much less exciting:

They showed up.

Again.

And again.

And again.

Long after everyone else got bored.

Long after the excitement wore off.

Long after nobody was watching.

That’s the meme I see every day.

And it’s still fooling people.

The people who win aren’t usually the most talented.

They’re the ones who stayed when everyone else left.
