That doesn’t happen very often.
In fact, I can probably count on my fingers how many times I’ve stayed home all day over the course of my life.
For years, my life was spent on the road.
Auction Monday.
Auction Tuesday night.
Thursday morning auction.
Friday morning auction.
Looking at cars.
Meeting dealers.
Driving hundreds of miles without thinking twice about it.
Motion was normal.
Yesterday was different.
I never left the house.
And surprisingly, it didn’t bother me at all.
The funny thing is, if you looked at my day from the outside, you might think I wasn’t doing much.
The reality was the exact opposite.
I worked on the Mercedes.
Tested out a new little steamer I picked up for cleaning and recon work.
Wrote two blog posts.
Filmed content.
Talked business.
Had friends stop by throughout the day.
Spent time with Video Chris planning future projects and content.
Talked about filming luxury homes, road trips, cars, and everything else we’re building.
Before I knew it, the day was gone.
The more I think about it, the more I realize how much my life has changed.
Years ago, productivity meant miles driven.
Now it feels more like ideas created.
Projects started.
Relationships built.
Stories documented.
Maybe that’s part of what this house has given me.
A place to slow down without stopping.
A place to think.
Create.
Build.
And focus.
I still love getting out and chasing opportunities.
I always will.
But yesterday reminded me that not every productive day requires turning a key and driving somewhere.
Sometimes the best thing you can do is stay put, work on what matters, and let the day unfold.
And for a guy who’s spent most of his life moving, that’s a pretty interesting realization.
